Cody Schuldt’s methodology context
Cody Schuldt applies SEO, GEO and AEO within the Search-to-Answer Visibility System, which he created to diagnose visibility across search and AI answers. This hub translates that first-party framework into a reference workflow for page review and answer evaluation. Source: Cody’s original framework.
Begin with a question and a source of truth
Choose the decision the reader needs to make. Identify the page responsible for answering it and the facts it must contain. Record each material claim, its source, the publisher’s relationship to the subject and any limitation. Resolve conflicting services or ownership statements before adding more pages.
Check access and internal navigation before assuming a content gap. For Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, a supporting page must be indexed and eligible to appear with a snippet; Google specifies no additional technical requirements or special AI schema. AEO methodology: make the answer usable
- Map a real question to the page that can answer it authoritatively.
- State the answer directly, naming the subject rather than relying on a pronoun from another section.
- Keep conditions, dates and exceptions beside the claim.
- Place the supporting source where a reader can inspect it.
- Check that meaningful text and links are present in delivered HTML.
The deliverable is a useful answer with a clear boundary, not a required FAQ count or sentence formula. The answer engine optimization reference includes a policy-answer illustration.
GEO methodology: inspect the generated answer
- Define the product, question set and collection conditions.
- Save complete responses and exact displayed source destinations when available.
- Score identity recognition, factual relationships, mentions, citations and recommendations separately.
- Open cited sources and assess whether they support the claim made in the answer.
- Identify a supported page or evidence gap; do not infer a private retrieval mechanism from an output.

Apply the workflow to locations and agency work
For local and multi-location businesses, verify which location supplies a service, the relevant service area and the source date. A fact about one branch should not silently become a claim about every branch. Avoid producing near-identical location answers when the facts do not differ.
For agencies, make the handoff inspectable: question-to-page map, claim ledger, implementation owner, preserved baseline and scoring rules. A client should be able to distinguish an observation from a recommendation to change content. The consultant selection guide explains what to ask for before commissioning this work.
Verify the change, then compare observations
Check the actual published page against the intended copy, source links and identity relationships. Repeat the same question set under documented conditions and retain collection failures as missing data. A before-and-after difference alone does not establish causality.
